Hard decision has been made

As you have noticed I have not been as active as I once was in making kits. I have come to the hard decision that I have decided to no longer create digital scrapbooking kits. I just don't have the mojo anymore when it comes to designing.

I have been working on getting my photography business up and running for the past two years and I'm finally taking off in the direction where I want to be. You can see me here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Michelle-Towne-Photography/101374759931781

I have informed the new owner of Ahhh Scrap (Teri of Pincollia designs) that I will be closing up shop. She's asked me to stay open through the end of April so I will do that but I will not be making anymore kits.

I want to sincerely thank each of you for your dedication and all of your kind words and encouragement throughout the last year. It has been wonderful to get to know you on a more personal level- you know who you are... ;)

gel-à-tins stamp company {Manufacturer Design Team Call}

When: January 10- February 1, 2011

Note: gel-à-tins stamp company is under new ownership and is excited to be searching for our first design team! We are looking for talented scrapbookers and card makers who love stamping and embossing. We will be accepting three scrapbookers and two advance card makers on our team. Skills in altered items

Design Team Requirement:~ Each design team member will receive at least one full stamp set per month and will be required to create unique and creative projects once a week- (4 per month)

~ Each DT member will be required to post their weekly projects on their blogs with information about what stamp set was used along with an active link back to the gel-a-tins store.

~ DT will be required to email good quality photos of their projects to use on the gel-à-tins blog, the gel-à-tins gallery, and the fan page on facebook.

~DT will be required to have a link in a side bar on their blog linking back to gel-à-tins, we will supply badge/banner/blinkie for you.

~DT will be required to follow on twitter and facebook and post comments supporting all DT projects posted. The main requirement is to promote the new ownership of gel-à-tins and that the company is creating new stamps sets and complimenting products.

~ Once DT is decided each DT member must commit to an initial webinar for an introduction to the company, the new owner, and to get more details along with examples of what is expected prior to your start date. This will require to call into a special phone number/pin and log into special online meeting for presentation. The day will be on a Saturday or Sunday and all information will be sent in email.

~ DT call is open to any happy creative stamper around the world!!

Design Team Benefits:~ Get to play with and keep the DT requirement stamps/embossing powders.

~ Be one of the firsts to have input on new products and play with them prior to their release.

~ Each DT will receive a special exclusive DT stamp set at the end of every month you complete your requirements, these stamps sets are designed and made just for DT members they will never be made available for sale. These stamp sets are for your enjoyment and no DT projects will be required from them.

I've been working on somethings lately. There have also been some MAJOR changes!!! I am OFFICALLY ANNOUNCING that I have gone EXCLUSIVE to AHHH SCRAP. YIP YIP YIPPY!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't be happier!!!

I've got a Sneak Peek at the newest kit of mine called: FALL SPLENDOR

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this time of year. I am even making my first batch of chili today. It's going to simmer all day and I am sure at some point in time, the big mouse aka: the hubby, will be standing by the crockpot with his ladle.

The colors are also spectacular which makes for my BUSY time of year for photos. I've got three photoshoots set up for this month and 5 for next month. WOWZERS!!!

Yes you read that right!!!! MY NEPHEW IS COMING HOME!!! Infact he should be home TODAY!!!! He posted on his Facebook page on Sunday night that it would be between 32-48 hours before he was home!!!

Although he'll only be home for 2 weeks, atleast he's home. I'm having another get together for him here at the new digs next Friday evening. Just something small where we can all be together before he leaves again.

So in honor of him and all other military members and their families I am putting the kit that I made for him in the $1 sale at Ahhh Scrap. The kit will also be on sale at Secret City Treasures so make sure that you check out both locations. You never know what you may find. ;)

My oldest is offically graduated, from Pre-school that is. :D We are so very proud of our little man. He's grown so much over the last year it's hard to imagine him going to school ALL DAY EVERY DAY in the fall without me running him back and forth. He will be riding the bus with the big kids. I hope that I he does okay. ;)

WOW!!! I have be really slacking on my blog here. I am so sorry. I haven't even given out any freebies for quite sometime. :( Some of you know if you've been following for awhile that we have moved into our DREAM HOME:

6,000 sq ft of a cleaners dream- um I should add, I'm not a big fan of cleaning. This week alone I have cleaned and washed my kitchen floor THREE TIMES.

Yep- haven't really had time to enjoy anything yet. The garage is still FULL of boxes. The husband is not working this weekend and the garage will be his cleaning duty. Our contractor has put up some AWESOME shelving for us so we can store anything that we need to above the garage floor and out of little prying fingers way.

My office has been the last area that I have even tried to start on, however, I did get started last night and before I hit the sack I realized that we haven't spoken for quite sometime. So, while I sit here in my messy garage watching my 5 year old dig out my weeds (man, I love that kid) I thought that we should have a chat.

I owe a VERY HUGE thanks to Liz for asking me to join her site and family. I truely appreciate the opportunity to take the plunge into doing something new and exciting.

There is wee bit of sad news that comes along with going into a store. While I'll still give the occassional freebie away, the kits that I have on my blog right now will no longer be free with TWO exceptions for the time being. All about Granny part 1 Freebie

Well here it is, my confession. My grandmother passed away almost three years ago and I had started to work on a scrapbook album of all of her pictures that I had taken when we cleaned out her apartment. I had also taken a trinket box full of things like my grandpas wallet and his pocket watch. Those things were very special to my mother and I told her that I would keep them at my house for safe keeping.

My confession, after about page 10 I stopped scrapping. I got to the pictures of the homes that my grandpa built from ground up with his two hands and I hit a wall. I was running out of funds for the paper and such that it took to make the book.

So here I am starting up again, but going digital this time. I will eventually finish the other one but in the mean time I can atleast give these pages to my sister and my mom.

With creating the other kits I wanted to do a kit that reflected my Granny. I went through and took pictures of the little trinkets that I kept, along with some other items that I had kept of hers. I will do this freebie in two parts because it's quite large.

The first half will be your papers. There are 14 papers and 1- 12 x 24 family tree paper. All are saved in either jpeg or png form and 300 dpi for printing.

I have been scouring the digital world for something as a freebie in a military kit that is my taste. I have found some very lovely kits that are out there made by other designers but they are just not what I've been looking for.

So, I decided that I would make my own military kit for my nephew. I have started to go through and save all the pictures that he's been posting on Facebook. At some point I will start to scrap those with the kit that I have made.

When I made this kit I was thinking purely of my nephew, however, the kit has already come into good use. My old roommate contacted me a few weeks ago and asked me if I could take photos of his girlfriends (Hi Angie) dad's military burial. See Arlen served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart, he sadly passed away in February from complications with pneumonia. He was buried with full military honors at Camp Ripley in Little Falls, MN.

When I spoke with Angie after the services, she had asked if I could do some scrapbook pages as well. It was in God's plan for me to make this kit. Here is the kit that I made. You are able to get it as a freebie. Rest in peace Arlen.

This month I have the privilege of doing layouts for Kate Designs and Rebecca_PSP. Both of these ladies are SUPER talented and have beautiful items for sale at My Life and Scrap

I will start off with a few layouts that I did for Rebecca_PSP. This first layout I completed with her kit called TOM BOY take a peek:

She also has a BEAUTIFUL kit called TULIPPING this kit is full of deep rich colors perfect for those spring time flowers. I did these layouts with alittle help from tulip pictures off the internet that you can find HERE and HERE Tulips are my favorite flower!!!!

Kate has been dabbling in designing as well, and she made a BEAUTIFUL collab between herself and Mama Mia Designs called EARLY MORNING PAPER. I used this kit in both of my layouts for Kate along with her super AWESOME templates that you can get HERE. Kate also is the host of the bi-monthly TEMPLATE CHALLENGE at MLAS. Here you can get a free template twice a month. Incase you haven't noticed, I *HEART* templates. :)

Jenna's Jog 5k Run/Walk Race

Pre-registration ends this Saturday. If you would like to participate in the walk/run sign up or if you would like to make a donation, keep reading. Jenna is a beautiful young woman who has been through a lot in her short life so far.

Jenna's story:

Jenna received a liver transplant in 1997 when she was just 7 years old. The transplant was a success and her health had been good. She graduated from Apollo High School in the spring of 2009 and just finished her first successful semester of college at Bemidji State University. When she came home for Christmas break this December, she showed her parents 2 huge lumps on her body. Jenna was quickly admitted to the University of Minnesota Medical Center where their greatest fear became a reality and Jenna was diagnosed with Post Transplant LymphoproliferativeDisorder, a form of cancer caused by the anti-rejection medications she received following her transplant. She is currently undergoing a rigorous chemotherapy treatment for the next 6 months. The increase in doctors appointments and primary goal of keeping Jenna healthy has prevented her from going back to Bemidji for spring semester. She is currently working at Cashwise Pharmacy when she feels up to it and is taking an online class through BSU. We decided to hold this event because we want Jenna and her family to focus on getting her better without worrying about the increased financial burdens that come along with treating this disease.

New Release from Mommy's Time Out and a Freebie

A little bit about Hodgkin's Lymphoma: Hodgkin's lymphoma, previously known as Hodgkin's disease, is a type of lymphoma, which is a type of cancer originating from white blood cells called lymphocytes. I am married to my best friend of 17 years. I am a stay at home wife and mother of six children, between the two of us. Three boys and three Girls. Last August I became a Grandma to a beautiful baby girl named Kadence. I enjoy spending time with my family, anything crafty and fun and would love to learn how to be a REAL photographer. I have been a traditional scrapper for many years and decided to take the digi plunge. I am officially HOOKED and enjoy designing even more!

We wanted to know more about her, so we asked her a couple of questions and here is what she said:

*Where do you live? Oklahoma

*What program do you use to do your Digiscrapping? I started with PSE7, and now I have CS4 Photoshop and Illustrator.

*How long have you been DigiScrapping? This month marks my 1 year anniversary!

*What is your most favorite day of the year? The day I married my best friend and had each one of my babies are all very important days!

*What's your all time favorite song? That would have to be John Michael Montgomery's "I love the way you love me" That is mine and my husbands song.

*What is your favorite scrapping style and or technique (framing, extractions, scripts, elements, doodles…etc..)? I learn something new every day and I love so much of it. So I honestly don't have a favorite yet.

*Name your favorite movie or TV Show and why: My favorite TV show is House. He reminds me so much of my husband. He is sarcastic, cranky, rough... but tender, loving and genuinely caring!

*Any favorite music style? I love all kinds of music. But I will say I listen to more country than anything else. (When I don't have my teenagers around!! LOL!) Carrie Underwood is my favorite singer and would love, love, love to see her in concert.

*What is your favorite junk food and why? I love food! LOL! My favorite would have to be iced sugar cookies. They are so soft and sweet!!

*What can’t you live without? I would have to say My Family!! They are what give me the strength to do everything I do!

*Do you have a Favorite Vacation Spot? Yes,

*What motivates you everyday? First and foremost is My Family! I have a lot of health issues and many days are a struggle. Through all of the ups and downs my husband and children have been there for me. Then I would have to say digi scrapping. I have met some amazing women and have the privilege of calling them friends. I started digi scrapping to give me something to focus on and take my mind off of things in my life that were out of my control. It gives me an outlet to do something creative and feel like I am contributing to my family in some small way.

So I've got another freebie for you today and a link to the FREE KIT that I made my pages with. How uber cool is that? Megan aka Mommy's Time Out has been into designing for awhile and I am now on her CT to help her get established in the digi world along with some other fabulous ladies.

These are the pages that I've done with her newest kit called BACKSTAGE PASS PERFECT for those pictures of you or your family members playing Rockband or Guitar Hero or even just jammin' out for real.

The pictures that I used for these pages are of Joey's buddy. I took them this past summer. He is a true rocker. He's got his own drumset, accordian and ELECTRIC guitar and he's only 5!!!! Don't worry I made sure it was okay with his mama that I posted these pictures. Well here I am trying to get caught up once again. I FINALLY finished all of my Daily December scrapping and I won't bore you with those for right now; until I decide to turn those into templates. :)

I have been shying away from all forums to actually make myself to sit down and get these done so I can put an order in so I can have the physical pages in my hands. I order all of my 8 x 8 and 12 x 12 pages from My Pic Tales they have for what I have found the best price with the same quality as those other printers. 8 x 8 pages are $.50 a page and 12 x 12 are $1.00 a page.

Hey would you look at that TWO freebies this week- ROCK ON!!! Shocker I know.

I am going to make this post short and sweet for you. Template number 12 is a two photo template and it worked really well for my boys.

The first page is of Alex again, but this time I have a really good excuse it's his first steps page. I ACTUALLY had my camera right there to capture his first steps. He was SOOOO excited- you can just see the pure joy in his face.

I created the page with another freebie. Make sure that you check it out and leave Janice aka from Grandma's Templates some love too. The freebie is called Salem Hills High School Kit it's a beautiful kit.

Joey's I had to do because he LOVES to write. He practices writing his name all the time. Now it's not just his first name, he HAS to do his last name too. He's gotten so much better than last year. Actually connecting the loop that comes down off the "Y" instead of lifting his pencil to do it. The little "e" is soo very cute. I caught him one day with one of my little note tablets on the couch practicing his writing.

I created this page with another freebie that I found from Kelly- Jo's Scraps she's got quite a few freebies on her blog and they're super cute. The kit that I used is called Little Robots I hope that when you visit Kelly's website that you leave her some love if you take a freebie.

Sing with me (in the melody of "I've been workin on the railroad") I've been workin on some layouts all the live long night.

Yes, I have children. Children who sometimes won't eat (eh hem, Alex) unless I sing. Let me tell you it's NOT PURDY when I sing. Think~ draging finger nails down a chalkboard horrible! Yep, just be glad you really can't hear me!

I am really excited to be FINALLY scrapping some of Alex's first b-day photos that I took. Usually I am on the ball, but with the holidays they got pushed aside. Now with the opportunity to create with a new designer, I am able to get them done. Leticia and I met at the perfect time too. She's got some FABULOUS kits in her store at Scrapable Her and I also have quite a bit in common. She's got her hands full with a little guy and well my cup fullith over. I love her designs, they are cute and just perfect for those everyday photos which what I mostly take pictures of.

I did a Speed Scrap (cause I'm addicted) at D.I.D- Designs in Digital and I <3 Cara and she's leaving to spend time with her family. :( I'll miss you Cara.

Anywho when creating the LO I was just following Cara's instructions, NEVER thinking that I would get anything. GUESS WHAT?!?!? Lyndie the Site Director choose ME, little ole' me for Dramatic Daily Layouts.

As we wrap up the Christmas holiday and look forward to the New Year, I have to look back on the year and just take a moment and remember what we all did. It's not much but it sure has gone by quickly enough. It's true what people say "when you have a second child, they grow much faster than the first".

My 'plan' was to get all of these templates out to you before the New Year hit, but even if I do one a day I won't make it. So this will extend into the New Year and I will keep going every couple of days. Occassionally I will stick in a 12 x 12 template so I can get some of my Christmas pictures scrapped too. It's a win-win for both of us.

So on with the freebie.

Daily Digi Scrappin'~ Catching up once again.

As I've said before, this daily digi scrapping is harder that it looks. Making sure to take pictures of something EVERYDAY is kind of a pain really, but like I told you before I am commited and I will prevail.

Now that Christmas is over and school vacation is here I can sit and play with Joey and maybe do a photo session with him. MOST of the time he's cooperative for me, MOST of the time. That will be something to scrap too and I plan on taking him to a place called Art As You Like It They have pre-made ceramic items there that you paint and decorate. They then fire it and you pick it up in a couple weeks. Joey and I haven't done this for over a year and he really enjoyed it the last time and still talks about what we did that night when we made our pumpkin.

Okay on to the scrapping...

I left you off last time with Alex's b-day page. So now I'll bring you back with Alex and his doctors appointment. He was NOT a happy camper. LOL

On this day it was Joey's turn to do some Christmas wrapping. I was trying to teach Joey that the meaning of Christmas is NOT "I want, I want" instead it needs to be about giving and spreading peace and joy. So we decided to give gifts to two of his friends at school and you've seen them before. He got his "girlfriend" some girly stuff (mommy had fun shopping for that) and his buddy Isaac he got "Cars" things. Of course that turned into "I don't have that car, I want that car". OI!!!!!!!!! All in all he ended up wrapping both after a couple tears were shed that HE wasn't getting those cars.

The 22nd was a do nothing day and offically the FIRST day of school vacation. The older kids at school had done really well on their test scores through out all 6 grades and earned the 23rd of December off. So since Joey typically would have school that day the 22nd became the first day of vacation.

I didn't feel like cooking and so Jesse swung by Papa Murphy's Take and Bake Pizza and picked up a very yummy Chicago Style Stuffed crust pizza. MMMMMMMM!

Happy Holidays

Well, here we are only one day away from Christmas Eve. My oldest has been COUNTING down the days for 2 weeks, cause that's as far as we'll let him go otherwise he'll drive us bonkers. He's SOOOOO EXCITED to have Santa come and visit again. We'll lay out cookies and milk before bed and in the morning we will have alittle family time to ourselves before we head over to grandmas.

Christmas Eve afternoon will be spent over at grandma's house as well, thankfully she is only around the block, we'll come home and start the festivites with my family here at my house for the evening. I love this time of year. I love spending time with family and dare I say it, since I know that my SIL reads this occasionally (HI~ TEE HEE) I love spending time with my in-laws.

Christmas Day, or Jesus' birthday is what I have been teaching Joey, we'll be spending over there as well. Good friends, good food, and GREAT company. LOVE IT!!!

Anywho onto the freebie for today. I had this kit when I first started digi scrapping but lost it in the great crash of epic proportions (Geek Squad couldn't even get anything off my hard drive, nor my lovely SIL) so I did some searching and found it again. I had sometime yesterday afternoon during Alex's naptime to get things done. Didn't get the wrapping that needs to be done, done. Nor did I get any laundry done, BUT I did get some more of my Daily December Scrapping done. Priorities right? RIGHT! ;) I am still behind though, far enough that I had to write a list on what we did each day because for the life of me I can't remember. The kiddos have sucked everything out of me. Lists have become my friend.

1st Birthday come and gone along with some cookies and daily scrapping

Yesterday was my baby's first birthday. It's a bitter sweet time for me. I know that he is our last, unless by the grace of God we are able to have more.

So to take my mind off of him turning the corner into toddlerhood I took pictures of various things and of course the b-day boy. The photo session will actually come this weekend.

Here are a couple pages that I did for the Daily Digi scrapping. I'm alittle behind.

Both pages are made with Jennifer Barrettes kit called Woodland Winter The font is from Fonts for Peas it's called Leslies Happy Font

You will see these pictures scrapped soon enough but I had to share some special pictures of Joey and his grandma making cookies. I wished that someone would've taken more pictures of me and my grandma. I used to spend a lot of time with her and miss her dearly.

Well this is very unlike me NOT to blog, still alittle upset that someone took advantage of me and the freebies that I give away. I promise though I will be coming back soon with one to 'test the waters' freebie. I can't leave you high and dry on page 6 of the bragbook, that's not very nice.

ON to the blogging and the joyest time of year. Can't let the bad things get you down. I participated in a Speed Scrap last night at MLAS I LOVE speed scraps. They give you inspiration when there isn't much and let's you sometimes come out of your shell and make you do things that you normally wouldn't do.

So last night Jennifer aka. littlekiwi was our host and she stepped out of the box and had us use upto THIRTEEN papers/ pictures. WOW!!!! So very different from the one or even two pictures that most have us do.

This is the layout that I created with her directions. Now I must say, I didn't follow the directions completely. I did get alittle carried away with the different papers and the boxes. However I really do like the way it turned out.

I used Designs by Jlo kit called Until Dark she based this kit on Twilight. TEEE HEEE Yes, I am a Twilight freak and I really did debate on doing a page with Edward and Bella. I even downloaded pictures of them off the internet. :)

Speaking of Designs by Jlo she was one of the designers that I had a guest apperence with this month as part of the Spirit Squad at MLAS. I've done a couple other layouts using her kits.

Today is the 11th of December already. In five days my baby will be one. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Where has this year gone? Why do they have to grow up so fast? My Joey is already 5 and he's grown up too fast too. So what I did with this page six for both of the boys is kind of reflect on what we had wished for them. The journaling and the picture reflects what we wanted for them.

The paper and elements come from Digital Scrapbook Memories software for both of their pages. The font is from Fonts for Peas it's called Leslie's Happy Font.

Daily December part two

Ha Ha Ha. Well, more like HO HO HO.

This is harder than I thought it would be. To make sure that I take pictures of SOMETHING or just even sit down and journal about the day is just that, hard, when you're not used to it and you need to get the everyday things done.

The last few days have actually proved to be busy. If we didn't have anything planned, I really just took the time to do something with just the boys other that the normal play. This project really makes you just think about slowing down.

Here are a few of the things that we have been doing the past few days.

Both of the first two pages are done with Jennifer Barrette's kit called Woodland Winter Kit at Gotta Pixel. The font is of course from Fonts for Peas font is Leslie's Happy font. Word art is from Words Imagined and yes that is Joey with his girlfriend. ;) Someday these two will be married.

Last night we watched one of my all time favorite Christmas specials. "A Charlie Brown's Christmas". Since I didn't want a picture of Joey and Jesse sitting like lumps on a log in a picture I got the picture that I scrapped from a google search for the Charlie Brown Christmas. You can find a whole bunch of them HERE for yourself. I choose THIS ONE.

The kit that I used with this page I got from Fuji Film. HA HA HA Yes- they have some FREEBIES to share. All of them come in 2400 dpi form which is PERFECT for these 8 x 8 pages. The kit that I used is from the HOLIDAY download. You can get them all HERE The ribbon and the star, however, I used from another kit that I have. That freebie is from Kalo Designs. Nothing really new to report right now. We are admist of a winter storm and it's here to stay. Well that's what we get for living in MinneSNOWta 6 months of winter. It's okay though. I think that the snow is beautiful but I LOATH driving in it and I really am NOT a fan of the cold. You could really call that a love hate relationship, huh?

Well, here are Joey and Alex's fifth page. These were also created with Marti Scraps kit FOREVER it's FREE- so make sure that you go and download it yourself. It's beautiful. Make sure you leave her some love too. :)
